The scene depicted of a miller hunched over, hauling a heavy bag of flour on his back. Off to the right side, under the small hut, you’ll find the milling stone, which rotates when the music plays. Next to the milling stone stands Barry (a friend from Heidi stories). The detailed waterwheel to the left is surrounded by, flowing water, a decorative plate and a stone wall. The cuckoo bird calls out on the hour, after which a tune will be heard and dancers on the balcony twirl to the sound of the music. The boulders and colorful flowers throughout the scene are handcrafted from sand collected at the shore of Lake Brienz.
